Ryan Lee is the CEO and Co-founder of Heron AirBridge, a Singapore-based deep tech company pioneering unified drone fleet and unmanned traffic management (UTM) systems. With over 30 years of experience spanning naval operations, advanced manufacturing, and aerospace innovation, Ryan brings a unique blend of strategic leadership, operational discipline, and visionary thinking to the forefront of the digital aviation industry.

A former senior naval officer and Commanding Officer of a multi-helicopter deck ship, Ryan transitioned from defense to technology entrepreneurship with a mission to harness autonomous systems for good. Under his leadership, Heron AirBridge has grown into Asia-Pacific’s first and only independent UTM technology provider, supporting projects across Singapore, Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

Ryan is passionate about integrating autonomous drones as everyday tools for business and society. He has led the company’s work with national aviation authorities, maritime regulators, and global partners to develop scalable, AI-enabled digital infrastructure for low-altitude airspace. His vision is rooted in a personal ikigai—combining a lifelong love for aviation and technology with a deep commitment to public service and innovation.

As urban and populated environments grow more complex and climate-related emergencies become more frequent, the need for rapid, coordinated, and compliant drone operations has never been greater. Heron provides a digital platform that can enable safe and timely emergency drone response through integrated mission planning, airspace authorisation, and multiple-stakeholder coordination workflows.

This presentation will showcase how the AirBridge mission and traffic management platform can support public service agencies by streamlining mission planning and flight approvals, enabling operation deconfliction in shared airspace, and disseminating real-time information flight data to other airspace users. The platform also integrates with drone docks to facilitate rapid deployment from pre-defined launch locations, ensuring timely response in critical situations.

Through live demonstrations and video case studies, we will illustrate how AI and digital workflows empower emergency responders to prioritise missions, maintain compliance, and operate safely in shared airspace under aviation authority’s oversight.

Heron’s approach exemplifies how software and systems innovation can transform emergency drone operations in the low-altitude economy.
