Dragan Gašević is Distinguished Professor of Learning Analytics and Director of Research in the Department of Human Centred Computing of the Faculty of Information Technology and the Director of the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash University. Dragan’s research interests center around data analytic, AI, and design methods that can advance understanding of self-regulated and collaborative learning. He is a founder and served as the President (2015-2017) of the Society for Learning Analytics Research. He has also held several honorary appointments in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. He is a recipient of the Life-time Member Award (2022) as the highest distinction of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) and a Distinguished Member (2022) of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). In 2019-2024, he was recognized as the national field leader in educational technology in The Australian’s Research Magazine that is published annually. He led the EU-funded SHEILA project that received the Best Research Project of the Year Award (2019) from the Association for Learning Technology.
Dr Leon Lei
Senior Education Development Officer, Talent and Education Development Office (TED), City University of Hong Kong
Dr. Chi Un Leon LEI currently holds the position of Senior Education Development Officer at the Talent and Education Development Office (TED) at the City University of Hong Kong. As an IEEE Senior Member and an Advance HE Principal Fellow, he earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and his Ed.M. in Education Policy, Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is also the Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies.
With extensive experience in digital learning initiatives, Dr Leon Lei has contributed to higher education and K-12 education throughout Hong Kong and the Asia-Pacific region. He has been awarded for his contributions to teaching, research, and service within universities and organizations. Additionally, several of his educational development projects have been shortlisted for the QS Re-Imagine Education Award or the THE Awards Asia.
Leon's research interests encompass learning analytics, accessible learning, and sustainability education.
Mr Dick Chan
Senior Educational Development Manager, Educational Development Centre, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Mr Dick Chan is the Senior Educational Development Manager (Senior Learning Technologist) working in the Educational Development Centre at PolyU. He has been working in the LA and eLearning areas for over 10 years. He has developed several LA tools and has presented these tools at international conferences.
