Professor CHEN Tiantian

[Presentation Title] Toward Human-Centric Cities: AI Agents and Street-Level Intelligence for Mobility Experiences and Safety

Prof. Chen is an associate professor at Cho Chun Shik Graduate School of Mobility at KAIST. She received her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the HKPolyU in 2021. She specializes in human factors, traffic safety, digital twin platforms, travel behavior analysis, and econometric and AI models. She achieved distinction as the International Category Award Winner at the 2023 KAIST Q-Day. In 2024, she was awarded the EWon Assistant Professor Position. In 2025, she received the College of Engineering Impact Research Award. She is also the chair of the International Committee at the Korean Society of Transportation. 

Professor DUAN Yuanfeng

[Presentation Title] EME Sensors for Absolute Stress Monitoring of Steel Cables

Prof. Duan is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished professor of Bridge Engineering, at Guangxi University and Zhejiang University. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004, and was promoted to a full professor at Zhejiang University in 2015. He visited UIUC from 2014 to 2015. His research interests include Structural Health Monitoring and Vibration Control, and Vector Mechanics and Structural Dynamics. He has been the principal investigators of 1 National Key R&D Program of China and 9 China National Natural Science Foundation Grants, including National Natural Science Grant for Excellent Young Scholar and 2 Key Projects. He has published over 120 papers and over 30 keynote speeches or invited talks. He has been awarded 25 international invention patents (China, US, Korea, Japan). His pioneering works have been applied to health monitoring or vibration control of more than 60 large-scale structures, including the Main Stadium of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, China Quanzhou Bay Bridge, Hong Kong's Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge and Taiwan’s Heart River Bridge, etc. Prof. Duan has also received the National Teaching Achievement Award and four science and technology awards at the provincial and ministerial levels.

[Presentation Title] UNESCO Seamless Prediction Decade Science Initiative (2025–2032): Advancing Subseasonal-to-Seasonal Prediction through Atmospheric Rivers and AI-Enabled Forecasting

Prof. Lu is Director of the Otto Poon Centre for Climate Resilience and Sustainability, the World Sustainable Development Institute at HKUST, and the Digital Meteorological Services Innovation Lab at the HKUST Shanghai Centre. She is an Associate Professor at HKUST with joint appointments in the Departments of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Ocean Science, and Finance. Prof. Lu serves as Chair of the UNESCO Decade Science Programme SEPRESS (2025–2032), endorsed by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Chair of the Hong Kong Chapter of the International Association for Hydro‑Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR), and Founding Chair of the Climate, Weather and Water Forum (CWWF). A pioneer in integrating AI and data science with hydrometeorology, atmospheric science, and climate prediction, her research spans extreme weather, compound hazards, and the Food–Energy–Water Nexus, advancing climate resilience and risk‑informed decision‑making. Her work supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and has been featured by NEWSWEEK, BBC, Bloomberg, and Croucher News.

[Presentation Title] Enabling Human-Machine Interfaces with Bi-directional Teaming Integration using Immersive Digital Twins

Prof. Moreu, PE, F. ASCE is the Robert J. Stamm Professor of Advanced Design and Construction Practices, Dean’s Excellence Lecturer and Associate Professor at the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at the University of New Mexico (UNM). He holds courtesy appointments in the Departments of Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science at UNM and the founder and director of the Smart Management of Infrastructure Laboratory (SMILab, https://smilab.space/). Prof. Moreu received his MS and PhD degrees in structural engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2005 and 2015, respectively).

[Presentation Title] Monitoring and Assessment of Civil Infrastructure

Prof. Nagayama obtained his B.S. (2000) and M.S. (2002) in civil engineering from the University of Tokyo and his Ph.D. (2007) in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is currently a professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Tokyo. He received the 2007 ASCE Raymond C. Reese Research Prize, and the 2020 ASCE Moisseiff Award. His research interests include data assimilation for structural dynamics, seismic and wind engineering, and infrastructure monitoring using probe vehicles.
 

Professor PU Ziyuan

[Presentation Title] Software-Hardware Co-optimization for Modular E2E AV Paradigm: A Unified Framework of Optimization Approaches, Simulation Environment and Evaluation Metrics

Prof. Pu currently is a professor at Southeast University (SEU), and an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at Monash University. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. from University of Washington, and his B.S. degree from SEU, China. His previous research focus on ITS, and Smart Road Infrastructures. He serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE T-ITS/IoT-J, and a Handling Editor of Transportation Research Record.

Professor WENG Shun

[Presentation Title] Structural Damage Diagnosis Based on Substructure Transfer Learning

Prof. Weng is currently a professor at the School of Civil and Hydraulic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on structural health monitoring, intelligent sensing, and damage identification in civil engineering. She has published over 100 academic papers and three authored monographs. She has been recognized with the Second Prize for National Technological Invention (2018, 3rd contributor), the First Prize for Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress (2023, 1st contributor), the Hubei Provincial Youth Innovation Award (2025), and the ICCES Outstanding Young Scholar Award (2025).
