We are excited to announce the publication of AI and Me: Winning Essays from the Hong Kong Secondary School Short-Essay Competition 2025, an anthology published by PolyU Press showcasing outstanding student writing from the Competition's inaugural year.
The Competition attracted over 1,100 submissions from 75 secondary schools, inviting students to reflect on writing, creativity, and the impact of AI on their lives. The judging panel was impressed by the range and depth of responses, including imaginative fables, speculative fiction, and deeply personal reflections marked by emotional resonance and originality.
The anthology celebrates the Competition's success and highlights how young writers are learning to "crack the puzzle of writing in the age of AI." It also reaffirms our Department’s commitment to promoting writing, creativity, and ethical engagement with AI among secondary school students.
The anthology is freely available as an eBook via the link below. A limited number of printed copies have also been produced and are available upon request.
