Prof. Janelle YORKE is Chair Professor of Nursing and Head of the School of Nursing, at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She was awarded the Hong Kong SAR Global STEM Professorship in 2024. Prior to her relocation to Hong Kong, she was the inaugural Professor of Cancer Nursing, a joint position between the University of Manchester and Christie NHS Foundation Trust. She previously held a England National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator award in recognition of her contribution to clinical research and ongoing support to develop nurse and allied health clinical-academic careers. She was appointed Deputy Chair, England NIHR Research Professor panel. Prof. YORKE’s research includes the development and evaluation of complex interventions to support patients and their family carers to self-manage distressing symptoms. She has particular expertise in the development and clinical-implementation of Patient Reported Outcome Measures.
Dr Kristin LIABO

Dr Kristin LIABO leads the Engaged Health Research Group at the Department of Health and Community Sciences at the University of Exeter. The Group includes the patient and public involvement teams of Exeter Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and the Applied Research Collaboration South West Peninsula (PenARC). It also supports PPIE activities for the HealthTech Research Centre (HRC) at NHS Royal Devon, as well as various research groups across the University of Exeter Medical School. Much of the Group’s work is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR).
In addition to leading the PenARC involvement team, Dr LIABO is an experienced qualitative researcher with a strong background in systematic reviewing. She has also contributed to a range of clinical trials and multi methods studies.
Dr Georgia TOBIANO

Dr Georgia TOBIANO is a Senior Research Fellow in End-User Engagement at Griffith University and holds a conjoint appointment with Queensland Health, reflecting her commitment to bridging academic research and clinical practice. Her research advances patient-centred care by improving the safety and quality of care transitions, and by fostering meaningful engagement of both consumers and clinicians in research.
Overall, Dr TOBIANO’s work is shaping safer, more inclusive healthcare systems that embed the voices of patients and clinicians as partners in care and research.
Dr Tella LANTTA

Dr Tella LANTTA is an Associate Professor of Mental Health Nursing Science at the University of Turku, Finland. Her work focuses on participatory and user-centred research approaches in mental health care, with a particular emphasis on patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE).
She leads Science belongs to everyone!, a University of Turku initiative aimed at strengthening collaboration between researchers and the public. As part of the project, she has developed a citizen research panel that enables members of the public to contribute to research processes by shaping research questions, reflecting on study designs, and supporting the interpretation and dissemination of research findings, informed by the perspectives of people with lived experience.
Dr Lantta’s work bridges academic research with public involvement and lived-experience perspectives, with the goal of making research more inclusive, transparent, and relevant beyond academia.
Prof. Yan LI

Prof. Yan LI is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She completed her postdoctoral training at the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery, and Palliative Care at King’s College London from 2019 to 2020. In recognition of her exceptional research achievements, she has been awarded the title of Presidential Young Scholar.
Prof. LI is a registered nurse with more than ten years of professional experience and is an active and emerging scholar in nursing research. Her research interests span Digital Psychosocial Health, mental health among individuals with physical disabilities, and AI‑driven innovations in education. Her work has received competitive funding from multiple sources, including the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, the Health and Medical Research Fund.
