Submissions for poster and oral presentation are invited on the themes below:

  1. Sports Biomechanics and Human-Product Interaction
  2. Sports Product Design, Materials and Manufacturing
  3. Sports Measurement, Feedback, and Instrumentation
  4. Sports Training and Rehabilitation

 

Submission and Review Guidelines

 

Abstract Submission

 

Authors should submit their TWO-PAGE abstracts using the template provided on the last page of this document to risports@polyu.edu.hk by 16 October 2026. The two-page abstract should include the followings:

 

  • Theme number and title
  • Paper title
  • Names and affiliations of the authors
  • Submitting author’s email address
  • Paper abstract

All students and staff are welcome to submit their abstract and join the award competition.

 

Selection Process

 

All submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the RISports Management Committee for suitability of presentation at the conference. The Committee will determine whether each accepted submission is delivered as a poster or an oral presentation.

 

Best Poster/Oral Presentation Awards

 

A number of cash awards of HK$1,000 and certificates will be given to the best poster and oral presentations.

 

Terms and Conditions

  1. By submitting an abstract, the author(s) gives permission for the symposium organizer to reproduce, distribute, display, and publish the abstracts in all materials (in printed, electronic, and digital forms) associated with the Symposium.
  2. The submitting author is responsible for the accuracy of the abstract and should ensure that the work does not infringe on any copyright, trademark, patent, statutory or proprietary rights of others.
  3. The submitting author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors are included on the abstract and that the submission has been approved by all the authors.
  4. Publication of the accepted abstract must be approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out.
  5. At least one author must be available to present the abstract if selected by the Management Committee for a poster presentation. The presenter must register before the deadline to warrant the inclusion of the abstract in the symposium programme.
  6. Submitting author must declare, if any, commercial interest, and associations that might pose a conflict of interest regarding the abstract submission. For all accepted abstracts, the commercial interest or association must be declared at the bottom of the poster. All presentations should include funding and other acknowledgements where applicable.
  7. Acceptance of an abstract does not imply provision of travel, accommodation, or registration for the Symposium, nor any other cost associated with the preparation or presentation of the abstract.
