Welcome to the Workshop on Advanced Optimization: Algorithms, Theory and GPU Acceleration, organized by the Department of Applied Mathematics of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

There have been very rapid developments in optimization theory and algorithms across data science, engineering, imaging, and artificial intelligence. At the same time, advances in modern computing—particularly GPU-enabled platforms—are reshaping how large-scale optimization methods are designed, implemented, and deployed. This workshop aims to provide a forum for exchanging recent progress on optimization algorithms and numerical methods that connect rigorous theory with efficient computation.
