Call for Abstracts

The AHKLC Symposium 2025 will take place from 22-23 May 2025 at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. This event will be co-hosted by the University's English Language Centre, the Chinese Language Centre, and the Association of Hong Kong Language Centres (ALHKC). The theme of the symposium is Repositioning Language Education in the Age of AI, and all presentations will be conducted face-to-face. In addition to the usual presentation formats such as paper presentations, workshops, and poster presentations, this symposium offers a demonstration strand. This format of presentation allows participants to showcase how they leverage modern technology for innovative materials design and teaching.

We sincerely invite abstracts on topics related to language education in the AI era. Submission details are as follows.

Symposium Thematic Areas

  • Integrating technology into language learning and teaching
  • Impacts of GenAI on language education
  • Innovative pedagogical and assessment practices
  • Learning outcomes and AI-Driven assessments
  • Designing language education programs in the GenAI era
  • AI tools and EFL/ L2 learning and teaching

Presentation formats *

  • Paper presentation (15 minutes & 10 minutes Q & A)
  • Interactive workshop (40 minutes & 15 minutes Q & A)
  • Interactive demonstration (15 minutes & 10 minutes Q & A, or 40 minutes & 15 minutes Q & A)
  • Poster presentation (Print size: A0 (Width: 841mm x Height: 1189mm)

Abstract Submission

You need to include the following in your abstract submission:

  • Title (Max. 15 words)
  • Abstract (Max. 150 words)
  • Presentation format
  • Presenter name(s)
