Welcome to the AHKLC Symposium 2025!
The AHKLC Symposium 2025 explores the theme of Repositioning Language Education in the Age of AI, addressing the significant challenges and opportunities presented by rapidly evolving technological advancements. This symposium aims to serve as a platform for educators, researchers, and practitioners to share their insights and experiences while reimagining the role of technology in language teaching and learning.
The symposium will be held from 22–23 May 2025, and is co-organized by the English Language Centre, the Chinese Language Centre at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Association of Hong Kong Language Centres (AHKLC).
Key discussions at the symposium will revolve around integrating AI and technology into language education, exploring GenAI-driven assessments, and designing future-forward pedagogical approaches. Participants will also have opportunities to engage with a variety of presentation formats, including workshops, paper presentations, and poster sessions. This year, we are excited to introduce an innovative presentation strand - Interactive Demonstration, which provides participants with opportunities to showcase practical applications of technology in teaching and learning and innovative material design. Further details can be seen in Call for Abstracts.
We invite you to join us in Hong Kong to connect with like-minded professionals, gain fresh perspectives, and contribute to shaping the future of language education in this dynamic AI-driven era. We look forward to seeing you at the symposium.
Plenary Speakers
Dr Chao-Mei TU
