Welcome to CM² 2026

Climate change, the global drive toward carbon neutrality, and the rapid expansion of marine infrastructure have pushed a new generation of construction materials to the forefront of civil engineering. Low-carbon, high-performance cement-based materials, the recycling and reuse of solid waste, carbon-mineralized binders, new materials for marine ecological restoration, and ultra-high-performance concrete and the associated floating structures are now drawing keen interest from researchers and engineers worldwide. Coastal and island regions, in particular, are required to design high-performance materials for their infrastructure, turn solid waste into resources while reducing carbon emissions, and construct structures that are durable in harsh marine environments. Meeting these needs calls for closer integration of materials design, structural innovation, interdisciplinary research, and AI—an effort that is central to making coastal construction greener, lower-carbon, and higher-performing.

To foster an international platform for academic exchange in low-carbon high-performance materials and marine engineering structures, and to promote exchange and cooperation among universities, research institutes, engineering organizations, and enterprises, the 1st International Conference on Circular and Marine Construction Materials is scheduled to be held on 17-20 December 2026 in Sanya, Hainan Province, China. Held under the theme “Low Carbon Lays the Foundation, Marine Concrete Builds the Dream”, the conference will feature keynote lectures, themed presentations, technical visits, and academic discussions on new materials and structural innovation for marine infrastructure, and the recycling and reuse of solid waste for construction. Experts, scholars, engineers, enterprise representatives, and graduate students in related fields, in China and abroad, are warmly invited to attend the conference.
