The 2nd International Workshop on Intelligent Tropical-storm-resilient System for Coastal Cities (INTACT 2025) is organized by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technology Research Centre (Hong Kong Branch), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China. The 2nd International Workshop on Intelligent Tropical-storm-resilient System for Coastal Cities will take place in Hong Kong, from 25 August to 26 August 2025.
INTACT 2025 stands as the premier platform for advancing climate-resilient urban systems in the face of increasingly severe tropical storm hazards. This prestigious workshop aims to assemble thought leaders, academics, and industry professionals to address the critical challenge of safeguarding coastal cities against tropical storm threats. This two-day workshop will curate a multifaceted program integrating visionary keynote presentations, collaborative dialogues, and technical exchanges. Through a carefully designed sequence of sessions, participants will engage with pioneering research frameworks and actionable strategies for the protection and sustainability of urban environments in the era of climate change.
We invite researchers, academics, and practitioners to submit abstracts on topics related to tropical storm resilience and urban development in coastal cities. Submissions should align with the workshop theme and may cover theoretical, experimental, and practical aspects of the field.
INTACT 2025 will focus on the intersection of tropical storm resilience and urban development, with an emphasis on understanding and mitigating the risks posed by tropical storms in coastal cities. The conference themes will explore the integration of innovative technologies and interdisciplinary methodologies to enhance urban resilience, with a particular focus on:
S01: Multi-Scale Modeling & Climate-Driven Wind Hazard Simulation
S02: Urban Damage Mechanisms & Resilience Quantification
S03: Field Monitoring & Validation: From Sensing to Digital Twins
S04: AI-based Real-time Assessment and Forecasting of Typhoon Disasters
Abstract Submission Deadline: 20 June 2025
Notification of Acceptance: 1 July 2025
