Application Eligibility

Current doctoral students or post-doctoral research fellows who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

• have research interests in tourism and hospitality;
• recommended by their supervisor(s) with the consent of the affiliated institution; and
• submit required application documents by the stipulated deadline.

Only applicants whose proposals are accepted will be invited to attend the Summer School.

Application Procedure (The application deadline has passed.)

An applicant must complete and submit the online application form first. Then the applicant will receive an email containing the payment (see the fees details here) and document upload links to submit the following required documents (in PDF format) online. The application procedure should be completed on or before 30 April 2024.

• a recommendation letter with the referee’s signature;
• an approval letter with institutional/departmental stamp of the applicant's affiliated institution/department using the template (link); and
• a synopsis of the applicant's PhD thesis proposal* using the template for Research Design Proposal (link). (Postdoctoral Fellows can submit a research paper proposal of no more than 800 words.) 

*The cover page of synopsis should include the title of the research, name of applicant, affiliated institution, correspondence address, email address and acknowledgment, if any. The main body of the synopsis should include Research Objectives, Scope and Background of Research, Methodology, Project Significance and Value and References.

The organizing committee will acknowledge receipt within ten working days upon receipt of the completed application documents. The notification of successful applications will be issued by email on or before 31 May 2024.
