A social enterprise on a mission to restore dignity of the differently-abled and disadvantaged

The conference dinner will be held at Dignity Kitchen, a unique restaurant run by Project Dignity, a social enterprise with vision “to restore dignity to the disabled and disadvantaged through vocation with passion”. Here, you can enjoy a variety of Asian cuisine and local hawker food, each dish crafted with care and served with dignity. This dinner, following the intensive conference programme, is not only about savoring delicious meals but also about engaging with the dedicated team in Dignity Kitchen who prepare and serve the food. During the buffet dinner, there will be a sharing session where you can learn, make dialogue, and interact with those who are differently-abled and disadvantaged, discovering how they work within their abilities and capacity. You will have the opportunity to converse with the well-trained “Dignity Family,” gaining insights into their inspiring stories while enjoying the culinary delights they prepare.  

Project Dignity is a multi-award-winning social enterprise, with a mission of restoring the DIGNITY of people with disabilities and disadvantages (“PWDs”) with skills training, gainful employment, and greater social inclusion. Established from Singapore in 2010 and expanded to Hong Kong in 2019, Dignity Kitchen, the world’s 1st food court run by the differently-abled and disadvantaged.

Dignity Kitchen is located at 618 Shanghai Street, a preservation and revitalisation project that includes a cluster of fourteen historic buildings. Ten of these are arcade buildings constructed between 1920 and 1926, recognized as Grade II historic buildings by the Hong Kong Antiquities and Monuments Office. The remaining four are reinforced concrete buildings, built during the post-war period between 1962 and 1964.  618 Shanghai Street features a variety of local lifestyle shops and restaurants, offering a glimpse into Hong Kong’s authentic culture and rich history.
