Abstract

This interactive workshop is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and tools necessary to enhance civic and community engagement through university programs and service-learning. Participants will review key theories and concepts from the field. Case examples will be provided. The workshop will also highlight the role of technology platforms, such as GivePulse, in promoting, tracking and assessing civic and community engagement activities to the benefit of universities, community partners, students and faculty. Participants will have the opportunity to work in small groups to begin designing a program or initiative and receive input from colleagues.
