A warm welcome from the PolyU CY Tung International Centre for Maritime Studies, the founding organizer of IFSPA! This is the 12th IFSPA since the first meeting held in 2007, and the first IFSPA to be jointly organized with an overseas university, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), this year. With the past 12 years of experience and after a prolonged pandemic period prohibiting face-to-face meetings for the past three years, this year's IFSPA meeting aims to take a bigger step in fostering a higher level of face-to-face interaction among our scholars, speakers, and participants. This is made possible through a new co-organization idea, with a key and important port, airport, and transportation hub city in Asia. After rounds of review, the best city and university to be invited as our co-organizing partner is set to be Singapore, and its esteemed university, NTU. We are very grateful for the great acceptance and support of NTU in the past half-year in making this co-organization a success! 

With this new way of hosting and organization, we expect a wider spectrum of knowledge sharing, signifying a higher level of synergy cultivated since the first day of meeting with our good partners from NTU, led by  Asst Prof. Yuen Kum Fai and Dr. Kelvin Pang and their team. We also anticipate a lot of learning and new ideas to be initiated given the geographic, economic, and cultural similarities of our two collaborating cities, Hong Kong SAR and Singapore. Industrial leaders, government officials, and leading scholars are invited to join the meeting in person and/or online. We hope their participation will be instrumental in confirming a good effort in achieving academic excellence among the submitted papers with emerging values in the industries as well. 

To celebrate a good reunion with you and meeting with our good old and new friends, forum pins and numbered souvenir sets, showcasing our special design forum logo, have been prepared as gifts and donations, respectively. Please select your preferred number and take them home with joy and happiness! We hope everyone enjoys this week in this wonderful university and city, with a full basket of renowned face-to-face communication, discussion, and friendship in all the occasions, including a list of parallel and industrial sessions, other than our opening and keynote speeches. Finally, we also hope the company and city visits will give you a quick overview of some of the key transportation sectors, or their supporting sectors. 大家好！我非常榮幸以會議創辦組織 董浩雲國際海事研究中心 的代表身份歡迎大家參加今年的 IFSPA 2024 會議！今年的會議具有特殊意義，不僅是第十二屆會議，象徵著一年十二個月的完整性，也是我們首次嘗試與海外學府，即知名的新加坡南洋理工大學共同舉辦。我們希望通過這次合作，能夠再次充分利用並提升過去的經驗，並將過去三年因疫情而被迫暫停的面對面會議的優勢和合作機會進一步提升和期待。 
 
我們期待透過這次的合辦，我們主辦單位的各位同事、團隊及所有參與者都能擴闊視野，提高成效。我們感謝由Asst Prof. Yuen Kum Fai and Dr. Kelvin Pang帶領的團隊在過去大半年間的無間合作，互相學習及支持，使我們得以更有力地共同舉辦這次會議。特別是新加坡在地理、經濟和文化上與我們的城市有一定的相似性和差異，這使我們的會議參與者，以及我特別邀請的香港行業領袖、政府和大學代表參加，具有更大的參考和回顧價值。我們深信這次會議將大大加強學術界和工業界的交流。
