Presentation Guidelines
Kindly ensure that you deliver your presentation within the time limit, as timings will be strictly enforced by the session chairs.
- A projector and a desktop computer will be provided in each room.
- Presenters must bring the slide(s) on a USB drive and copy the slide(s) to the desktop before the session starts.
- Please be present in your session at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the session and report to the session chair. We would also suggest you have a PDF version of your slide(s) on a separate USB stick as a backup plan in case your original version fails to render properly.
Best Paper Session
Each presentation will span 10 minutes, plus 5 minutes for Q&A.
Breakout Session
Each presentation will span 5 minutes, plus 5 minutes for Q&A.
The idea is to present the essence of your research in a concise and engaging manner, showcasing the interdisciplinary nature of your work and its relevance to sustainability.
Tips for preparing high-quality presentations
- Keep it simple: keep each slide as simple as possible
- Give a good start: grab the attention of your audience at the beginning by starting with a compelling introduction of the background of your work
- Avoid having too many technical details: present only a few highlights of your original contribution in your work and emphasise high-level ideas on why your contributions are original in the context of related work
- Use examples: use a few examples to make your talk more understandable
- Keep a calm pace: deliver your talk at a relaxed pace
- Manage the time: use a timer on your side to be aware of the amount of time left
